South Park: Whole But Fractured

sagamar.co.zaThis time I’ll be talking about another game that came out not too long ago and that is ” South Park: The Fractured but Whole” which was developed by Ubisoft. Now, I know that this is the sequel to the first game, “The Stick of Truth” so  I won’t be able to compare if they were some differences between the first and second game.

Both games are RPGs and revolve around the same set of characters, but in the second one the story continues where Stick of Truth left off. In this game, I am a new kid in town who previously was the king in the last game. But, now the medieval time game is over because Cartman discovered that a cat was missing and that his rival superhero gang the Freindship Pals have not only have looked into the matter already, but have become a lot more famous around town and knowing Cartman; he got jealous and changed the game to a superhero one.

TechnoBuffalo.comIn this game it’s mostly the usual in most RPGs. You start from the beginning as a level 1 and work your way up, do side missions to get special items and do the main missions to progress the story. This game is totally funny and the stuff that happens in it is really crazy. But that’s South Park for you.

You have a good variety of classes you can choose from and you can mix and match your abilities as you progress through the story. What I think would be cool is if your abilities and moves were decided by what kind of costume you choose to wear. The combos would have been massive. The only thing that was a little annoying was the fact that you couldn’t sprint which is why I think they put fast travel points all over the map.

I think it’s really funny is that the only reason we have superpowers is because we dress up as them. It would be really funny too if the entire town was in on it so they only pretended to be hurt from my awesome attacks. The things you see and do in this game makes you laugh your pants off with the situations they get in.

This is a really good game for people who want to pass the time or beat the second game because they beat the first. This would be a good game for first time RPG players too as long as they don’t mind the cussing and slight nudity that’s found in the game. This game is really enjoyable to play and makes me wonder if they will make another anytime soon. We can only wait and hope.

Evil Within 2: Secrets Revealed

GameDebate.comHello!

Today I’ll be talking about the new horror game ,”The Evil Within 2″ this time. Everyone has been waiting for this one for so long ever since the first one came out a couple of years back. To recap from the previous game detective Castellanos and his partners Kidman and Joseph got call about a disturbance at Beacon Mental Hospital. All three went to the hospital with the two of them not knowing what they were walking into. Notice how I say two and not three.

Anyway, Castellanos fights thru a lot of zombies and mutated monsters while trying to find his friends in that creepy, gory world he was suddenly thrown in. A lot of things happened in the last game, but in the end Ruvik the main villain escaped STEM to exact his revenge on the people who wronged him a long time ago.

Some people argue that he didn’t escape STEM because his brain was crushed at the end, but if you look at the last scene then it’s really implied that he escaped from the STEM system because over the Leslie’s mind and walked away. I really was hoping Ruvik would be in the second game, but that didn’t happen. But, then again  it probably wouldn’t make sense for him to be in this one because he did all that to get out of it.

WindowCentral.comAnyway back to the game, so in Evil Within 2 it turns out that the good detective quit his job because of a combination of what he saw in there, Kidman’s betrayal and wondering to this day if he’s still in STEM or not. Personally, I would think that was obvious because he’s not being chased by zombies and everything doesn’t look fucked up anymore but that’s just me. Since he quit, he’s been trying to find Kidman and get some answers until one day she comes to him with an offer for him help his only daughter Lily, who he thought died in a fire years ago.

Of course, he takes the job after learning Lily’s situation and dives back into the ‘new and improved’ STEM system. Not long after entering the new virtual world, he realizes that things have gone to shit in this quiet little town and he needs to find the source before everyone inside becomes a mindless zombie.

MasGamers.comSpoiler Alert Incoming!!!

I like this game because we get to have a closer look at Castellanos’s past before the Beacon Incident. In the previous game, it was only lightly brought up but I guess everyone was so curious about his backstory that they had to put in the forefront of the new game. So, many secrets are revealed in this game that it blows your mind. Some of them being that Joseph was still alive and that even though in the end Myra took over as the core and pretty much self destructed the STEM world and all the Mobius agents someone inside STEM was still alive and doing things. Who was it?

I don’t know and unless their planning on making an Evil Within 3 game, we may never know.

Also, I hoped Joseph would appear after they mentioned he was still alive but that didn’t happen either. But, I hear rumors that there is going to be a DLC about what happened to Joseph later on or maybe he might be in the third game if they decide to make another one.

This game was really good and had so many ways to play it. You want to be a ninja and so sneak kills? You can do that.

You want to blow up monsters in a blaze of glory? You can do that, too.

Are you a player who likes doing all the side quests first then the main story or vice versa? You can do either and no one would judge you for it.

I loved Castellanos’s attitude in this game. He didn’t take any shit from anybody and knew already that he was better off working alone than with anybody else unless he really had no choice in the matter. The only people that he didn’t give shit to was Hoffman and Torres and I think that’s because they made quite the impression on him during their first meeting.

This would be for seasoned gamers that like horror games and aren’t afraid to get scared at any moment. The storyline was very interesting and there are many ways to play it then just killing everything in sight. (You’ll do that anyway but still….) The options are out there. Hope you all enjoy this thrilling horror game as much as I did and I’ll see you guys next time!

Danganronpa V3: The Weirdest Game Ever

twinfinite.netI know I’m a little late with this one and I think I say this every time, I disappear from the grid. Nonetheless, even when I’m gone and doing things in reality, I’m always thinking about you guys and what I can rant about to you all next time. Other than that I hope all of you are excited about enjoying the holidays with your friends and family like I am.

For today, I’ll be talking about the one and only Danganronpa V3 that we’ve waited so long for. I was so excited when I heard this game came out and couldn’t wait to take it home and play it. My first impression from the game was that it was going to be another killing game, Monaca is going to make her grand debut and Makoto is definitely been turned into a robot.

Oh come one, like you guys weren’t thinking the same thing as me when you saw the cover of the game. It looks like Makoto went sci-fi on us to take on whatever it is he was about to fight. That’s what I think at least.

Anyway, the game starts off with the usual ‘I don’t know where I am or why’ opener the only difference with this one is that it starts with a girl which really surprised me. Before you say, ‘but their was a girl as the main character in Despair Girls!’  I’m not going to count that game only because they weren’t the same type. Despair Girls was an adventure/shooter game while the other were mystery/graphic novel type games. If every Danganronpa game was the same type then I would have counted it, since its not I’m not going to.

Later, in the prologue it kind of blew my mind that they would make several Power Rangers like versions of Monokumas and call themselves the Monokubs. I thought it was weird and hilarious at the same time. Being weird because I thought at first that we were going to do this game with the original Monokuma.

Silly me for thinking that.

aminoapps.comHe showed up as evil as ever and his the father of the Monokubs. Some people have a theory that the mom is Monomi from the second game. Whether that’s true or not is totally up to you unless they bring out a dlc or something with the Monokubs back story. The only thing that I didn’t like about Monokuma in this game was that his voice changed a bit. I just chalked it up as a new mastermind a new Monokuma voice, but then again if you listen there are times like in Punishment Time moments where his voice goes back to the original one which for me I felt like the creators got a little lazy in that aspect.

fanpop.comOther than that it was weird, crazy and intense as the other games before it with jaw dropping plot twists. One of the things I did like was how they didn’t care about how dirty and potty mouthed they could be which is probably why they added the Miu character. Miu turned out to be one of my favorites besides Kokichi, of course. Miu wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind, but got totally shy when someone talked back to her in mean way which was really funny to watch. Kokichi was that wild card player that loved to stir things up anyway, he could even if that meant hurting other and being hated all the time.

Speaking of characters, this game really got me when it came to guessing their talents and finding out who the culprit to the crimes were. Usually in the previous games, it was really obvious to guess their talents and guess the culprit. In this one they made it hard as hell because their appearance didn’t match their talents except Miu and Himiko. During trials when you were on the right track on finding out the killer usually they would get really nervous and sweaty and stuff, but almost none of them did that which made it extra hard to pick the killer unless you rrrrreeeeaaaallllllyyy paid attention to the case.

fanpop.comRantaro is another thing I wanted to talk about. In the end, you never really find out what his ultimate talent is. They say in the game he was the Ultimate Survivor then later in the story you find out that its a title given to the ones who survive the previous killing games. So, what was he called before that?

If they never shed some light on that in the near future then we may never know.

Another thing I noticed was all the games that they make you play during the trials. Maybe a lot of people complained that their weren’t enough mini games in it, personally I was happy with the amount. However, with this game they added a lot more mini games which kind of annoyed me a little but only a little.

Looking back on it, it seems I have a lot to complain about with this game, but don’t get me wrong this was a wonderful nonetheless. This is just my own personal opinion about certain aspects of the game while I played it. The storyline was very powerful and dark as usual with that usual hint of mystery in it. If your into these types of games with mystery, trials, murder and mini games then you’ll want to give this game a try. Whether you’ve followed the series or not your going to be in for a wild ride!

Corpse Party: School Edition

Blu-ray.comThe Corpse Party anime series and previous games are becoming increasingly more popular as time goes by. It’s so popular that I can’t see this series dying any time soon. So, without further ado, I would like to talk about one the most recent game in the series, ” Corpse Party: School Edition”.

If I had to give this game a nickname it would the “Filler Edition”, the reason being that it’s the same exact game as the first Corpse Party, but only this time they explain the missing holes that the first one left this time. Things like what happened to Kishinuma after he got knocked out by zombie teacher. How did he not die? How did he escape? And so on and so forth.

These types of things got on my damn nerves because the first game wouldn’t even hint at what could have happened. It was they were saying,” Well, they made it out alive and that’s all that matters. Don’t sweat the details!” No! I will sweat the details because I don’t know about you guys, but not knowing certain details or all the details when it comes to the storyline is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. So, when they finally brought out a game that will reveal all those mysteries, I was super happy about it.

Pinterest.comThe gameplay and graphics are pretty much the same as the first (besides the fillers), so if you’ve already played the first one and don’t mind playing it again then you have the advantage because you know almost everything that happens in the game. If you’re not in this fortunate position and are about to play Corpse Party for the first time, then you’re in for a ride. But, if you’re not into horror/RPGs then this might not be for you. I enjoyed watching the mysteries unfold and I thought it was totally worth playing this game all over again. I hope you all feel the same after playing the school edition.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception

N4G.comJust finished this graphic novel game called, ” Utawarerumono” developed by Sting. It came out recently and has been the talk of the gaming town for everyone to play. When I first saw it I didn’t know what to think of it, so like always when I’m not sure about a game I go ahead and watch the trailer and see if its good or not. I was kind of put back because the trailer made it look so innocent looking for me, but when you look at the back of the cover it, obviously, says partial nudity, sexual themes, violence, etc, etc.

So, why is that?

Could they not find the right moments that would hint at that? Just to show you what I mean I’m going to show you this trailer for all you folks who haven’t seen or heard of the game yet. If you have then, you can go right ahead and skip over it.

Since, this is graphic novel game I already knew that their would be a lot of talking and cut scenes in the game which I was totally prepared for. What I wasn’t expecting was actually fighting in RPG fighting style battles. I was totally happy with that development, since most graphic novel games don’t let the players do this. At the same time, I was kind of disappointed because the battles are far apart from each other and it was more like I was playing chess than anything. If you’ve already played it then you know what I’m talking about. If I had to guess, I would say that I fought about 8 times in the entire game.

DualShockers.comMy favorite characters to use to fight with and in the story were Oshtor, Kuon(aka secret badass), Atuy( aka the mad princess) and the twins Saraana and Uruuru. Before, I get into them though let me bring you up to speed with the story. It starts with a man waking up on top of a snowy mountain who is later called, “Haku”. He’s wearing nothing but hospital robes, has no memory of who he is or why he’s there in the first place and you can tell right away that he doesn’t fit in whatever world he’s stumbled upon. Later, he gets rescued by Kuon from a giant red slime monster which I still think to this day was trying to tell him something. My theory is that it knew him and was trying to speak to him because it probably hadn’t seen him in forever. That scene was both in the anime and in the game and while the game story progressed I became more confident in my theory that the red slime was someone he used to know.

No, I’m not going to start talking about the anime, too. Sorry, but that rant is for another time and if I start comparing the two we’re going to be here all god damn day. So, moving on…….

Utawarerumono Mask of DeceptionAfter, being saved from death, Kuon vows to become his guardian and not leave him alone until she is sure that he can make it on his own. Thus begins their journey to the imperial capital, where they meet a lot of strange and strong people. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, but it seems Haku is the only live human around. Everyone else looks human, but they all have tails, cat-like ears and amazing strength. On this journey to find work, he discovers conspiracies, secrets, new friends and his forgotten memories.

The story behind this game will leave you at the edge of your chair and wondering WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! There are a lot of touching and sad moments in this game that will leave you teary eyed and moments that make you go NNNNOOOOOOO! If you love a good story then I would definitely play this game and if you end up being in love with it like I did and want to know if their is a sequel then you’re in luck because there is one. The sequel ,” Mask of Truth”, comes on September 5th.

I’m totally pumped up for that and I hope you all are, too!

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Book

Steam.comThis game I ended up buying recently and I just wanted to try it out and see how it is. It called, “Atelier Sophie”, and it was developed by Gust Co. Ltd. I could right away from looking at the cover that this game was set in a gentler pace than what I was used to in RPG games, but I decided to give it a shot anyway.

It revolves around Sophie, whose a young girl who is a novice in alchemy and after her grandma’s death, she made it her life goal to become the best alchemist around so everyone can depend on her like they did when her grandma was still around. Right as she was working on that plan, she discovers a book she’s never seen before in her shop and it starts flying and talking to her! Plachta is what the book likes to be called and sadly she’s lost all of her memories of the last 500 years.

Sophie decides to help her regain her lost memories and in exchange Plachta teaches Sophie better recipes and skills for alchemy. As the story progresses, they find out that Plachta used to be a human and a very powerful alchemist. Also, she remembered that she was the creator of the “Cauldron of Knowledge”, which is a device that boosts a alchemist’s power or even let’s a person who has no talent in alchemy actually be able to use it.

When Sophie heard this she wanted to get the Cauldron of Knowledge in order to turn Plachta back into a human. Until then, she had to make due with making a doll for her in order to move around more. Here’s something else that I think Sophie should have also been thinking when she heard Plachta’s story after regaining some of her memories. If someone went to all the trouble of moving their soul into a random book and making sure that they lost their freaking memories, I would think that their was a very IMPORTANT reason for that, don’t you? No one just makes them have amnesia for nothing. Obviously, she either wanted to forget something so she wouldn’t be tempted to do it again or someone made her forget and could mean big trouble for Sophie if they happen to still be looking for her after all this time.

Kei Tecmo.comThis girl is so soft-hearted that I can’t believe no one has come to swindle her yet in this game. It made want to slap her just to see if she would get angry or something. Personally, I don’t like Sophie’s character all that much, if you ask me. For an experienced gamer like myself, I’ve seen so many types of characters throughout different games with compelling backstories, emotional twists and watching character development throughout the story and other stuff, too. Sophie’s personality doesn’t seem to have that though.

So far, this girl has done nothing, but smile or be shocked, that’s it! If you watch her face you see that she still all smiles, even though, she’s thinking of something sad or something that makes her angry. It makes me think that all she can do is smile and nothing else. If they couldn’t do anything about her forever happy face, then at least make the story more in her favor. For example, she could be putting on a happy face all the time even in sad times because she still has hope in her heart that her missing dad or mom will come back home one day and tell everyone where she/he has been this whole time (both her parents are dead in the story by the way).  Something like that would have helped show her character in a different light than what I’m seeing.

The-O Network.comOther than that their nothing really wrong with the game. It’s definitely a game for beginners or for people who want a change of pace in gaming. This game can become very addicting if your one of those people who like to beat a game as fast as possible. Be prepared though, you will be running around a lot in this game. Enjoy!

Little Nightmares

cracked-games.orgThis time around I’m going to be talking about the popular and recently out game called, “Little Nightmares”. The game was developed by Tarsier Studios in which I appreciate your guys hard work in making this game for us. I was interested in this game the moment the demo came it, so I was really happy when I heard that this game finally came out.

So, the story of the game itself is really up to your imagination, but I’m going to tell you guys what I think was happening in the game. You wake up as this little girl wearing a yellow raincoat. Yes, I say she because it feels like it’s a she. So, I say it’s a SHE!!! Their has been a debate what gender the little person is and I vote she because she a she vibe from the get go.

dualshockers.comAnyway, this is a stealth/puzzle game where you have to sneak past these gross, deformed fat people who want to kidnap you for some odd reason. I’m good at stealth, puzzles not so much. It takes a person like me a minute to figure some stuff out, not going to lie to you. While your venturing on what you finally figure out is a ship, you come to realize that the reason all this fat people keep trying capture is so they can eat you because you’re a delicacy in this world. So freaking delicious that they’ve got (I thought this was a daycare for the employees kids or something, at first. Okay, leave me alone.) a whole smuggling ring operation going on where they take kids, feed them and fatten them up until their ready to put in the oven.

Messed up, isn’t it?

I know the theme of this game is dark and creepy, but they made something so damn dark that you couldn’t even see where some stuff was nor where you were going despite having a lighter. You never see the faces of the children nor the main character’s. Even though, the game was meant to be creepy it also had a lot of funny and charming elements to it, too. I always laughed when the chefs would see me and make that funny elephant sound.

At one point in the game, it kind of felt like you entered Spirited Away for a moment because everything takes a Japanese style turn and the head mistress of the ship is a geisha with a white mask. If you look closely at some of their faces, some of them look like Japanese demon masks. I thought it was cool but kind of out of place with the rest of the game art style and if you’ve played the game then you’ll understand what I mean. Also, I’m very curious at what type of creature she is because I thought she was just a regular child surrounded by giant adults that want to eat her, but then whenever she gets hungry bad things start to happen to the point where you question if she’s actually good or not.

gamerevolution.comI would say she’s kinds like a vampire but kind off not. I’m not really sure but at the end she becomes totally badass and gets her revenge on all those people who tried to eat her throughout the entire game which I thought was awesome. In my mind, she may be a being that can suck the life out of you and steal powers, but she still gave those people what they deserved so good for her!

I really loved this game, its creepy charm and how dark the story becomes as time goes along. The controls are really simple, so even a beginner can play this game as long as they don’t mind the horror element. Really excited to see if another similar game is coming out anytime soon and I hope you enjoy Little Nightmares.

Persona 5

WikipediaThe new game Persona 5 was developed by Atlus and is totally incredible. This game is about a group of outcasts that become famous Phantom Thieves that gain the power to steal and change the hearts of evil people. The game starts out really epic and weird only because the main character is trying to escape a casino while avoiding monsters and you have no freaking clue to what is going on.

Crazy, right?

I wasn’t too surprised since this is the fifth game in the Persona series so I was kind of used to the weirdness already. But, this is the first time that they’ve tried telling the whole story as a flashback. I felt bad for this guy in the beginning when you see how shitty his life becomes just because he wanted to do the right thing and now he’s being punished for it. What made it even worse was that for a hot minute nobody asked him for his side of the story!

Don’t worry guys things get better.

Youtube.comLater, I don’t know why but Igor (Prison Master/Velvet Room Master) chose him to have persona powers in order to “rehabilitate” him from ruin. How that works…..I don’t know but he just goes with it. Now, his new friends and himself are going into Metaverse which the other world is called and finding the most rotten of people in order to change their hearts and confess their crimes.

I think my guy is pretty calm and laid back for someone in his situation. He kind of just goes with the flow of things which is cool. Anyway, the game itself is pretty addicting and there is A LOT to do besides killing shadows and stealing hearts the whole time. While you’re not fighting in the Metaverse, you have to help him have and keep a decent social life in the real world; doing so will get you extra things in the other world.

After, a marathon of playing the game I realized two things that most of the shadows in the game looked really, really similar to the franchise game called, ‘Megami Tensei’, and that some parts of the soundtrack sounded really similar to another game called, “Catherine”. It wasn’t until later that my dumb self finally figured out that all three games were made by the same people.

PersonaCentral.comAnyway, this game has an awesome storyline, good comic-booky like graphics and is really easy to play. I think they’ve learned from Persona 4 when it came to difficulty settings because this time it goes from safe to expert. So, even if you’re a total beginner at gaming you’ll do just fine in this game. If you love a good storyline or RPG games, then you better get to this one fast!

The Nonary Game: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors

Loom Knits.comHello! Hope you guys are enjoying this lovely morning like I am.

Recently, played this game called the “999 Nonary game” created by Chunsoft. I don’t know if I ever talked about the previous games in the series, but there are similar games to this one that came out in the past, but I’m going to just stick with talking with this for now.

This one starts out just like the previous ones where the main character which in this case is a guy names, ” Junpei”, wakes up confused and locked in a place that they’ve never seen before with eight other people. The only thing that they can remember is that they were kidnapped by a guy wearing a gas mask. The mysterious kidnapper announces to them that they are going to play the “Nonary Game” where you solve puzzles in different rooms to try to find a way out of where your being kept.

Zeroescape.wikia.comSince, it’s a nonary game where everything has to do with nine the kidnapper tells them that they only have nine hours to find their way off the ship that their on before he sinks it and they all drown. Forced to work together without knowing anything about each other, they help each other in trying to escape. As you play the game though you realize that theirs more going on when people start dying and you realize that people are keeping some important secrets from you.

The only thing that I didn’t like about this one is that there a lot of math and science stuff that goes on trying to solve some of these puzzles. If there is anything that I really despise in this world, its math! The science and science facts that they kept throwing at me I really didn’t mind but the math puzzles sucked ass.

If you’ve never played this series before then I’ll let you all know that this has several endings. All of them are bad except for one and if you want to put in the extra work to get all the endings then go ahead but for this one it requires you redo the game over and over for to get a different ending. I’m kind of the one time gamer when it comes to things like this. But, you guys can go right ahead if you want to.

If your squeamish when it comes to blood and murder then I don’t recommend this but if your into it and solving the mysteries and solving puzzles then you’ll have a hell of time with this one. I really enjoyed the story and the different characters and how everything gets revealed in the end. The endings are always mind-blowing, I love it except the math. I hated the math parts but I still hope you guys enjoy the game.

Trails Of Cold Steel

Source: Elotrolado.net

This game was developed by Nihon Falcom and I have to say that I really loved this game a lot. Their were so many good things about it that I was kind of sad and frustrated when it ended when it did and I’ll tell you why later. But first the story itself………

It first starts out kind of normal, you know the new kid who we know as Rean comes to Thor’s Academy, a military school, to better himself and all that but during his first day seven students including himself get randomly selected to form a new class called Class VII. In this school, your social status decided which class you would be in. The royals or really rich nobles would be Class 1, Nobles who aren’t as rich are in class 2 and so on and so forth until it gets to Class 6 which you can probably guess are the poor, common people. So, the board of directors decided to see what would happen if randomly selected students from different social classes were to be put together in one class.

And so Class VII was born and so does the trouble. Obviously, the students fight amongst themselves while trying to get to know each other. Also, fighting off monsters and terrorists that are trying to invade their country. This group has a knack into getting into trouble, but then again it wouldn’t be much of an action game if they never did get into some kind of trouble now would it?

What I liked about this game were the different characters, the dating sim likeness they put in the game where you had to keep spending time with one of your friends to increase the bond between you and the storyline. Man, the ending to Trails of Cold Steel really got me. First off, I wasn’t expecting so many people to being bad guys in the end and if you’ve haven’t played the game yet and are planning to in the near future then you’ll never guess who C turns out to be. I was frustrated and shocked how the entire story in the game did a total 180 on me. I wanted to see what it would happen so bad that I bought the second game in the series to see what happened to everyone.

Yes! There is a second game to series out there!

Many types of gamers could definitely get into it. If you like good storyline but don’t really care about the battles then theirs an easy mode for you and vice versa. If you like sim dating games or anything similar I would recommend this game. So far no true love interest has appeared but it might be getting there. Also, this would be a good game for beginners or for people who simply enjoy a good rpg game like myself.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t be surprised if this were to become an anime or something because it certainly has the potential to be one. The first game in the series has been beaten and now its on to the next one! What will happen to Rean and his friends this time?

Play the game to find out!
