Generator Rex

Watching “Generator Rex” brought a lot of old fond memories back. This show surrounds a teenage boy named Rex who has the power to grow and control machines to defeat EVOs. EVOs are humans that get turned into evil looking monsters because of an incident that happened 5 years ago. Five years ago, a group of scientists wanted to help humanity combat injuries and diseases by creating little machines called “Nanites”. Which I think was a good idea if the rich people funding the project didn’t mess up completely. They caused a huge explosion that not only taking out a lot of people, but the Nanites that they created spread across the globe and infected every living thing.

The Nanites end up mutating the eco system and the very people themselves turning them into monsters. What’s worse is that their seems to no cure for the never ending plague…….until now. Rex is the only person with the power to fight and cure EVOs. Their was a lot of mystery around Rex. He didn’t know his last name, where he came from, if he had any family or why he has these powers in the first place. But, don’t worry as you watch you’ll find they will give us hints and flashbacks to help us with finding the answers. The mystery thickens when Van Kleiss, Rex’s arch nemesis, appears. He appears to know more about Rex and who he is than anyone else it seems, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be revealing anything to us anytime soon.

If I had to choose my favorite episodes from this series, it would be “Night Falls” and the Ben/Generator Rex crossover. I liked the “Night Falls “episode they created werewolf type EVO that I liked plus another showdown between Rex and Hunter Cain. I also liked when they put Ben 10 into the mix for two episodes and mess with Rex a little. I don’t think Rex could process what Ben knew and what he could do all that well, but they proved to be a good team. I hope they get to work together again before the season ends.

Generator Rex is really funny to watch. I love watching Rex and his partner Bobo fight EVOs and pull pranks on everyone that they meet. The show will keep you entertained as we try to figure out Rex’s past and what it has to do with him now.
