Prison Lab: A Game of Revenge

MangaPark.comToday I have another horror type manga for you. This one is called ‘Prison Lab’ also known as ‘Kangoku Jikken’. It revolves around a bullied teenage boy named Eyama Aito who not only doesn’t know why he’s being bullied on a constant basis but why is ex-best friend is the ringleader of the bullies. Everyday he endures the bullying as it gets worse and worse until one day he receives a letter of invitation to participate in the captivity game.

The captivity game is when a participant can kidnap one person and do whatever they want to them for a whole month. The only catch is that they can’t kill them or their out of the game. Sounds simple right?

Turns out this whole game is more complicated than it sounds which you will find out later in the story.  I’m not going to spoil it for you, guys. Anyway, it doesn’t take much convincing on Eyama’s part to accept the offer and get his long-awaited revenge. Their were two things Eyama was sure of when he agreed of the game and that is that he wasn’t the only one and that he wasn’t going to kill Aya.

Pinterest.comHis patience, smarts and dormant temper are tested in this game. Not only does he have keep his deep hatred for his bully in check so he doesn’t kill her, but he also has to compete against the other participants and try to win the game. My only question to this game is what do you get when you win?

There are other questions that need to be answered, but so far this manga is doing really good  in answering them. Hopefully, they will answer all the mysteries that they present in this story in the near future. Yes, this series is incomplete and still ongoing, so I shall  be waiting with the rest of you to see what happens in this twisted story. My favorite characters so far would have to be Misaki and Harakawa.

Misaki is that psychopath that you wouldn’t know was a psycho until she started ripping you to shreds with a smile. She was very good at hiding both of her sides if you didn’t know her and if you did then she didn’t care and is scary 24/7. She’s the wild card in the story, you never know what she’s going to do next. Harakawa, on the other hand, looks like that carefree run of the mill assistant, but as the story goes on you realize that he knows more than he’s saying that he has a bit of a dark side, too. The manga so far hasn’t revealed that much about his backstory, but I can tell so far that he is Eyama’s greatest ally until he is no longer useful.

This is a very gory tAminoApps.comhriller story that will definitely keep you on your toes. Just when you think you’ve seen it all something crazier happens. I love reading the inner journey of Eyama finding his dark side and taking on his new persona when he’s in the game. Also, I’ll say that Aya the bully became a bully for her own reasons which I will not reveal in this. If you want to know then go right ahead and read it to find out for yourselves, but for her I will say that she was a doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. Now, do I feel sorry for her? Yes and no.

You’ll understand why after you read it.

I hope you enjoy this dive into darkness and revenge. It’s sure to get crazier as more chapters come in which I hope is soon.

Thanks for Reading!

Cubism Love

MangaHome.comThe manga ‘Cubism Love’, was created by Shibamura, Yuri and it was very lovely one to read. It’s about a girl named Noriko who gets into a car accident and the only thing that survives is her brain that they stuff inside a black box. Her doctor/savior is Dr. Shinoda is her caretaker and as time passes becomes not only her friend but love interest in his heart warming story.

The manga but is a bit short for my liking but it was still a nice read. Its one of those stories where you fall in love with whats inside instead of outside. Yes, there is a happy ending to all this if you can believe it. Even all the sci-fi technology and design babies that they end up adding to the story, it will all come together in the end. Like I said before I wish it was longer but still a nice little heartwarming story that I hope you all will enjoy, too.

Thanks for reading!

Parasyte

Everyone has bad habits here and there and for me this particular bad habit of mine sometimes gets on my last nerve because I end up getting mad at myself in the end. I don’t know if other people have a problem with this but when I’m not sure of something like a game or anime, I seem to hold off on it because I instantly think that its not my cup of tea. Later though, when I finally go fuck it and try the game or episode I get angry in the end because I find out how good it is and why I didn’t try it sooner.

That’s how I felt after watching one episode of Parasyte. After, the first episode ended I was totally hooked on it and had to see more.  This was made by Hitoshi Iwaaki who created the manga and the actual anime series was created by Madhouse. This anime revolves around a teenage boy named Shinichi who is nerdy looking, nervous and friendly towards anyone that he meets. He also has a total crush on red-headed girl named Murano who for some strange reason keeps asking him from time to time,” Are you really Shinichi Izumi?”

It kind of pissed me off every time she asked throughout the entire show. I mean, why does she keep asking that? Would it make her feel different if he said no, but she already knows its him so why does she keep freaking asking him that same stupid question? I actually got really happy when he told her to shut up after she asked that same damn question for like the hundredth time to him while he was in bad ass mode. To tell you guys the truth, I really didn’t like her all that much. Everytime I saw her I always thought that something was a little off about her but I didn’t know what. Wasn’t sure if I wanted to him to end up with Kana either but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Basically, Shinichi was living an ordinary high school life up until one day he wakes up to something digging into his arm. He stopped it from going anywhere else in his body, but the next day he summed it all up as a bad dream until his arm started to transform and talk to him, at least. His arm later named Migi explains that he was going for his brain so he could take over his body and eat humans for nourishment. Later, they keep running into their more people infected and Shinichi has decided that he will get rid of as many parasite infected humans as he can.

Shinichi goes through a lot of shit in this show and sometimes you feel so bad for him. Its never revealed where the parasites come from. They never make it clear, but I’m betting that their aliens because in the first episode they were all falling from their small pods from the sky and none of them have any idea why their even there in the first place. I wish they would have hinted more but I guess we’ll never know. I really like when Shinichi was badass looking with his hair gelled back and everything, he looked really hardcore to me even his personality changed drastically. Again if you watch it or have read it, you’ll see that he goes through a lot of crap. To me it was like his own weird, parasite version of breaking down and rebelling. Again you know what I’m talking about if you’ve seen it.

There is a lot gore and action in this anime and I love it. My only wish was that he would have stayed in badass mode, but oh well. If you like mutants, action, gore and a bit of romance meshed into one then this one is definitely for you. There is so much to like about this anime its crazy, but I know it won’t get a second season.

No point, really.

The ending is so heart warming and funny at the same time that I thought I was going to cry for a minute. This is worth watching especially for people who are fans of sci-fi and horror anime. Hope you enjoy it!

Conception 2: Children of the 7 Stars

Source: http://www.criticalgamer.co.uk

The game Conception 2 is for the Nintendo 3DS and it mostly centers around a boy who you can whoever but I chose to leave the name as it was, so we’ll say his name is Wake. Twenty years ago, dark circles appeared out of nowhere all around the world. Eventually, they were called Dusk Circles and the monsters that crawled out of them and terrorized the people were called The Dusk.

I solution was quickly gathered when the Star God that they worship chose certain people to acquire special powers to fight off these monsters. These people are called Disciples and they would know that they were chosen by the Star God when a brand would suddenly appear on their body. Then, they get shipped off to the Academy where they get trained and educated.

When Wake gets their though and takes the exam to find out which rank he’s supposed to be in, he’s in for a surprise. I won’t spoil it for you, but it wasn’t what I was thought it was going to be. Usually, when I’m playing a game I can pretty much guess what’s going to happen next, but looks like I was a little off on this one.

Back to the game, other than fighting monsters with their special powers and sealing away Dusk Circles, they have another job. That’s to create as many Star Children as possible. Now, this is where this RPG game starts to feel like your playing a sim dating game. Apparently, you have to woo all this girls in order for you and her to participate and complete the ‘ritual‘ as they call it.

They try to sugar coat what your looking at during the ritual, but we all know what this is and I find it quite funny how the characters explain it like its not what it looks like. But, then his friend, Chlotz, says that he’s jealous of him because Wake has the excuse to say that its his duty to help make as many Star Children as possible.

Star Children to me are like those little fairies that like to follow you around everywhere, except these are actually helpful in a fight. Also, they are absolutely adorable and what kind of child you can end up with is almost random……almost.

The only thing that’s in your control is type of child you want. You want to be a swordsman, magician, grappler, etc.

The story is actually pretty good. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait to see what will happen next in the game and what will happen in the end.

Psycho Pass

source: www. zerochan.net

Psycho Pass is set in the time of 2113. Of course, since this is placed in the future we’re obviously going to see a lot of futuristic things which for in my case I was extremely jealous of. The main character, Akane, who is a new inspector for the Public Safety Bureau Criminal investigation shows off a lot of her gadgets in the first couple of episodes.

I wish I had a computer butler who could change the entire interior of my house to anything I wished or change my clothes with a touch of a button anywhere I went. The utter convenience you see in this show is staggering.

Anyway, this show starts out with Akane on her first job as an inspector. My first impression of her was that she had a very mellow look to her and that she didn’t look like she belong doing police work. Turns out, I was right but I will not tell why or how I knew that I was right. You need to watch it to figure it out.

As an inspector her job was pretty much simple. To make sure the Enforcers did their jobs correctly. Enforcers are very disturbed people in which the higher ups use to help them go after criminals. Now this is where things get interesting.

The police in this anime kind of work the same way as they do in present time except with all the awesome gadgets. The other things is that each person is equipped with a special gun that can tell the difference between an innocent civilian and  cold hearted killer. Also, what I found that was really awesome about these guns is that if someone had the insane urge to try to kill an innocent person the gun’s safety would turn on, if not innocent and the person turned violent the gun would transform into what I like to call Lethal mode.

The Enforcers are all unique characters but some reason Kagari, who is one of the Enforcers kind of reminds me Karou from Ouran High School Host Club. He loves to tease and joke around Akane. When they first met he tried to flirt with her, but I think he’s a bit bipolar from how he can just flip the script on you really fast.

This anime show and characters are quite interesting and I recommend that people give it a shot.

Generator Rex

Watching “Generator Rex” brought a lot of old fond memories back. This show surrounds a teenage boy named Rex who has the power to grow and control machines to defeat EVOs. EVOs are humans that get turned into evil looking monsters because of an incident that happened 5 years ago. Five years ago, a group of scientists wanted to help humanity combat injuries and diseases by creating little machines called “Nanites”. Which I think was a good idea if the rich people funding the project didn’t mess up completely. They caused a huge explosion that not only taking out a lot of people, but the Nanites that they created spread across the globe and infected every living thing.

The Nanites end up mutating the eco system and the very people themselves turning them into monsters. What’s worse is that their seems to no cure for the never ending plague…….until now. Rex is the only person with the power to fight and cure EVOs. Their was a lot of mystery around Rex. He didn’t know his last name, where he came from, if he had any family or why he has these powers in the first place. But, don’t worry as you watch you’ll find they will give us hints and flashbacks to help us with finding the answers. The mystery thickens when Van Kleiss, Rex’s arch nemesis, appears. He appears to know more about Rex and who he is than anyone else it seems, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be revealing anything to us anytime soon.

If I had to choose my favorite episodes from this series, it would be “Night Falls” and the Ben/Generator Rex crossover. I liked the “Night Falls “episode they created werewolf type EVO that I liked plus another showdown between Rex and Hunter Cain. I also liked when they put Ben 10 into the mix for two episodes and mess with Rex a little. I don’t think Rex could process what Ben knew and what he could do all that well, but they proved to be a good team. I hope they get to work together again before the season ends.

Generator Rex is really funny to watch. I love watching Rex and his partner Bobo fight EVOs and pull pranks on everyone that they meet. The show will keep you entertained as we try to figure out Rex’s past and what it has to do with him now.
