Have you ever looked at a game sitting on the shelf and knew it was for you? You didn’t even look into it you just saw it and said I’m getting because you already knew it was the game for you? Well, when I first saw the Danganronpa game, my ‘gamer senses’ were tingling and I bought it on the spot. So far, I do not regret that decision.
This awesome game was made by Spike Chunsoft and I’ve got to say this game’s story really caught my attention and sucked me right in before I knew it, I was done with the first game and ready to buy the second one. By the way, I’m only going to talk about the first two games in the series, since theirs so much to talk about with this series. The plot of this story first starts at Hopes Peak Academy where if your scouted and recruited to join this school your future is guaranteed to be successful. The reason for that is because they hone whatever talent that you have into something that can become a profitable job.
Sounds pretty cool, huh? I would like to go to a school like that if it existed. But, just like any elite school the only way to get in is if your scouted by a scout from the school. The only other way is by a random lottery the school does and enters you in as the “Ultimate Lucky” student which, of course, the main character, Makato, ends up winning and going to the school. Sadly, things go down hill from there.
The moment he enters the school, he suddenly grows unconscious and wakes up trapped in the middle of the school where he discovers 14 other students. That’s when my favorite character, Monokuma, appears and explains that they will live in the school forever and the only way to get out is to murder someone and not get caught.
Both of these games are filled with dark and twisted situations that will make your head spin. I love the characters in both games because their so unique and crazy and the endings to both games just make you go, “Wait a minute…….WHAT?!” I swear even if you’re not into playing games where the characters talk a lot, but your into solving mysteries and watching how crazy these people can get then this is for you.
The second game is a continuation of the first game, but with different characters and different situations. Also, this game was turned into an anime so if you don’t want to play it then you can always watch it and see how it plays out. Its just as enjoyable with either watching or playing or both! Its very dark, very twisted and very funny. I deeply enjoyed this series and I hope you do, too.
