The manga ‘ Love Stage’ was recently turned into an actual anime show which I enjoyed very much. The manga was written by Eiki Eiki and was illustrated by Taishi Zao. The story goes about a boy named Izumi who all his life wanted to become a manga artist. The only problem being is that his family does not approve of his choice for his future because he pretty much sucks at drawing anything remotely good. But, he’s deluded himself into thinking that his work is awesome looking. Also, to make things worse he has an obsession with Lala-Lulu who is a female heroine in one of his favorite anime shows.
Izumi belongs to a famous show biz family. His mom is a well-known actress, his father owns a talent agency company and his older brother, Shogo, is the lead singer for a popular band. So, you would think that he would just follow in his families footsteps and go the same route, right? Nope. One of his main reasons for not joining his family in the spotlight is because he thinks he has no talent of any kind that he can show off and that he’s terrible around crowds. Still, that doesn’t stop his family members especially, Rei, the family manager from trying to get into the family business.
One day, a golden opportunity comes knocking for Izumi when a famous celebrity named Ryoma comes to his family with an offer that they can’t refuse. The only problem for Izumi is that Ryoma thinks that he’s a girl from a long time ago and has fallen in love with him. (Poor Izumi)

This story is totally hilarious and heart warming at the same time. I’ve both read and watched it and it is totally awesome no matter how I read the story. Now, if your against gay love or seeing some man on man action, then this probably isn’t for you. For those that are cool with it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. My eyes were pretty much glued to the screen and before I knew it, I had gone through all of the episodes. Don’ think its going to get a season 2 but if it did I hope it’s just as hilarious as the first one. Also, to let all you guys know the show is pretty much the same as the manga, so it won’t really matter which way you guys prefer to see this wonderful story unfold.
Thinking pretty hard about it, but I’m going to have to give it a 4/5. The characters were hilarious and so were the situations to they were put through. During all of this, you watch as a young boy face his fears and learns how much everyone around him cares about him and his future. Enjoy!
