Hekikai no Aion

This manga centers around a nice boy named Tatsuya whose parents have recently died in a car crash. After, their death Tatsuya was left with billions of dollars and a lot of distant relatives coming out of the wood work trying to win his favor.

Tatsuya was a bit of a naïve and kind-hearted boy with not much of a backbone. In the beginning, when he was being bullied for lunch money all he did was smile and politely tell them to back off. He’s one of those guys that refuses to fight back for some reason. It’s a good thing that Nagisa, who is one of his best friends was there to help him get rid of all those bullies or he would be in trouble.

Besides, everyone wanting his money, he comes across a weird girl named Miyazaki. When I first started reading the manga I thought that Miyazaki was a mermaid, but after reading a couple of chapters I learned that wasn’t the case in this story. Personally, I’m not really sure what she is. She has a shadow snake named Aion that comes out of her shadow and attacks people and can not die.

It turns out that she’s the one going after mermaids because she wants to avenge a person’s death, but the only way can she draw the mermaids out if they are a lot of brain washing bugs around. The bugs are little beings that get into your head if your near the sea. Since, this town that they live in is right next door to the sea then lots of people are going to get infected. The bugs have the ability to provoke the evil that lives deep in your heart and make it a hundred times worse.

Miyazaki uses Aion to get rid of these bugs. Also, Tatsuya doesn’t know it yet but he’s become interested in her and won’t leave her alone. Which then leads to her living with him. I love triangles and I think that Nagasi and Miyazaki are going to be fighting over Tatsuya each other a lot in this manga.

I can already see the funny moments in this story and Miyazaki is really playing the mystery card. This manga is really good and I can’t wait to find out more about Miyazaki’s past and to see if they get together or not.
