A Silent Voice

Shout! Factory.comWe’re going to be diving into an animated movie called, “A Silent Voice” or “The Shape of Voice” whichever title you prefer.  It was produced by Kyoto Animation, directed by Naoko Yamada and written by Reiko Yoshida. With that said I would like to thank everyone in involved in the making of this awesome movie.

Now this movie mostly revolves around two main characters who are Shoya and Shoko. Shoko transferred over to Shoko’s elementary school where everyone learned that she was deaf and had to wear hearing aides in order to hear at least a little bit. But, still preferred to communicate with everyone through her notebook. For some reason, Shoya and her friends start bullying her and anyone trying to befriend her. Until one day, Shoko’s mom makes an complaint to the school which in turn makes Shoya’s friends turn on him in order to save themselves from punishment.

With the bullying and harassment exposed Shoya’s mom was forced to pay back all the money to Shoko’s family in compensation to him breaking or taking her hearing aides. Shoya learned three life lessons during this time:

Karma is a bitch

During tough or dire situations, you find out who your real friends are

That all of your actions come with rewards and consequences

AminoApps.comIn this his case very harsh consequences because not only did his family have to give up the money to Shoko’s family, but he also lost all his friends and everything he did to her was being done to him. This stuck with him even after Shoko suddenly transferred out to another school. Eventually, he did get to transfer to another school too, but the mental and emotional damage was already done by then because in his new school he didn’t have any friends there either, he had trouble looking at people in the eye and his depression seemed to be so bad that his mind couldn’t even bother to remember people faces. The people not important to him in his life had huge Xs over their faces showing that he didn’t really care for their existence so the only people that initially didn’t have an X over their was face were pretty much family members.

Fate seems to intervene once more with Shoko and Shoya reuniting in a sign language class. Shoya wants to redeem himself for his past mistakes concerning her, so he decides to befriend her. Then, the beautiful drama journey between these two is born. This is a total tear jerker of a movie and if you watch this movie and you don’t shed a tear then I’m pretty sure you don’t have a soul.

Tumblr.comIn this movie, new friendships are born, old ones are renewed, jealousy and love are sprung and speaking of jealousy I think Naoka had a crush on Shoya because of the fact that she blames Shoko for how their friendship ended in elementary school and now how Shoko and Shoya seem to be so close now. So, she ends up becoming a bitter bitch in trying to sabotage their new found friendship anyway she can. What I think Naoko never ever understood from that childhood experience was that their little group of friends weren’t really friends to begin with because even if Shoko wasn’t in the picture; some other time in the future something else was going to break them apart. Also, she had plenty of time after the incident to rekindle her friendship with Shoya but the fact that she never bothered because she was afraid of becoming an social outcast herself spoke volumes to me.

Anyway, I really loved this movie it moved my heart to tears. Their are a lot of life lessons to be learned in it, makes you appreciate life as a whole and how it shows you that things can always get better with time plus the movie itself was overall beautiful. I recommend anime and non-anime watchers to definitely watch, but if you don’t feel like crying your eyes out while watching it, I will understand.

(C) Control

sevac.studiojab.comThis anime is called, “C-Control” and it gets pretty crazy pretty quick like most anime shows. It revolves around a college student named Kimimaro Yoga who is like everyone else in the world just trying to get by in life when it comes to the bills. Even though, he works two jobs he still flat broke almost all the time until a strange man by the name of Masakaki appeared at his front door one day.

Basically, he offered the chance for him to make big money in no time flat which we all know is sketchy at best. But, Masakaki didn’t really give him much of a choice when he put a whole bunch of money in his bank account and Kimimaro had no choice but to use it. The moment he did, it was game over.

avvesione.wordpress.comNow, that he’s used the money, he has no choice now, but to join the Financial District and play the game. The Financial District isn’t a place, but a whole different world that other people like him go to in order to play, gamble and earn more money. Their are only three ways to earn money in the district. You can gamble it, you can get a loan from the bank (which no one does because you have to pay it all back in one go at some point) or win a deal. Deals are mandatory battles between people who fight with their assets.

Everyone gets an asset and each one takes a different form. For Kimimaro, his asset took the shape of a young long-horned girl named Mashu. Anyway, when you fight you fight with power and money. You buy abilities with your current budget and every time you take a hit, you lose money, too. The fight is on a timer so if you end up losing a lot more than your opponent by the timer is up you claim bankruptcy. In that world, that is the last thing you want to happen because the Financial District takes your future as collateral. Meaning whatever good stuff you had going for you in reality the “bank” will alter reality to take it away.

kawaii-mobile.comFrom what I watched the scale kind of goes like this: if you don’t have much or you just started in the district and you lose the alteration in reality might not be that bad compared to a person who has a large fortune and claims bankruptcy. The only people who can see or tell a change has happened reality are the people that go to the Financial District, but normal people can’t tell that something has changed, even when a store that you might have just walked out of goes from being a doughnut shop to a sushi restaurant.

Crazy, right?

Warning: Spoiler Ahead!

Well, it gets worse. Later, in the show you come to realize that the financial district has had a hand in erasing tons of people even countries. The district can alter reality to make people think a certain person never existed, so it’s not too far-fetched that they can make countries disappear. Turns out that if a certain countries Financial District goes broke then an alter reality storm breaks free called,”C”, breaks free from that world into reality to take out that entire country.

To make matters even worse because C took out an entire country all the money and stocks end up effecting other countries that try to make their financial district’s go broke, so guess what happens next……..? That’s right folks C starts moving around trying to take out other countries!

This money hungry anime is totally epic and I totally recommend it for any anime lover out there to go watch it. It really makes you think about your money and your future to the point where you become self-conscious of it. Now there is one thing I have to ask though before I wrap this up for you guys. What do you think is better? Having all the money in the world, but no future or having a future and be flat broke?

Corpse Party: Blood Drive

Source: thevitalounge.net

I really love the Corpse Party series from the manga all the way to all of the video games they made. Corpse Party has been getting more and more popular over the years because of the incredible horror/mystery surrounding it. This one was made by Makoto Kedōin and developed by Team GrisGris. For those of you who don’t know what Corpse Party is about; it’s about a group of teenagers who decide to perform the Sachiko Forever Charm which is said to anyone who performs the charm will be together forever. Unfortunately, right after they perform the ritual an earthquake starts shaking the entire school and not long after they find themselves in an entirely different school filled with tortured souls and killer ghosts.

It’s a pretty cool show and I recommend anyone who likes horror or mystery to watch it. Just don’t get too attached to any of the characters…….they might not live too long.

The latest Corpse Party game is called Corpse Party Blood Drive and I already got freaked out by it by playing the first five minutes of it. You guys may not know it, but I tend to stay away from horror games just because I don’t like jump scares all that much. I will play them from time to time, but only if I think I can handle it. Corpse Party was the exception because I like the series so much. I thought it was going to be like the previous where there’s mostly talking and you have to move here and there to find stuff to move on.

Boy, was I way off with this one. .

The previous games is just like I said before they mostly talk and find stuff while avoiding ghosts, but it wasn’t that scary. They completely changed the game with this one though. In this game, after all the crap happened in the other ones and they finally escaped the school. It turns out that dark powers of the school were becoming so strong that they didn’t even need to drag all the way to the school after you performed the charm to torment or kill you. If you did it in the real world, your horrible death was pretty much guaranteed to happen. Also, Ayumi stupidly goes back to Heavenly Host after a strange boy tells her that the curse has expanded and she is the only one that can stop it. Again I thought it was a stupid move to go back at all. First off, you’re taking the advice of a complete stranger that seems to know all about you.(creeper alert!) Then, she decides it would be perfectly fine to right back after she just back from there by her fucking self!!! Her stupidity meter went up the freaking charts when she decided to do that.

During that part before she was about to go, I thought it would give me an option or something but that didn’t happen. So, I had to watch make her do these things while I shook my head at her and called her a selfish dumbass. Also, theirs a lot more of the adventure feature in this game and a lot more running away from ghosts, you just don’t know when their going to show up and start chasing you all over the place!

I’m not going to tell you how this game ends, but a lot of epic and crazy shit happens in this game. So, if you don’t mind a nice little horror game to pass the time then by all means play it and see how you like it.

Side Note: To all of my beloved readers/followers who I appreciate for continuing for reading my blogs, I would like to know if theirs anything you would like for me to talk about or even improve on to make this better for you guys. I can handle all kinds of criticism so give me your best shot!  🙂
