Dungeon Ni Deai O Motomeru No Wa Machigatte Iru Darou Ka

The title of this manga is a mouthful, but the story and idea surrounding it is pretty awesome. Unlike Sword Art Online or .Hack//Sign this manga describes a world where people live their lives like an RPG game. What I mean by that is that these people are born in this world where they have to fight monsters to get money, have their stats tattooed on their back and can form parties which they call ‘familia’ here.

They can even buy potions and armor to help boost up their status and health which also made me wonder what would happen when they die. I haven’t seen anyone die yet in this manga, but it makes me wonder do people just die like anybody else or do they disintegrate like the monsters? If they do, do they get another chance at life?

In this interesting world, it centers around a open minded boy named Bell who wants to be an elite adventurer. But, when he firsts starts out things do go as planned. First of all, he makes a contract with a goddess named Hestia who wears the same ripped dress and doesn’t have not one worshiper except Bell. So, she hopes that through Bell she can gain more followers and eventually become well known all over the world. Secondly, Bell likes to get ahead of himself and tries to fight in dungeons that he knows he isn’t ready for which lead to the meeting of the famous sword princess, Aizu.

In the beginning, Bell finds himself going to deep into the dungeons and comes across a monster that almost killed him, but Aizu ended up saving him in the end. It was like love at fist bloody battle for him, after that he fell in love with her and he got even more fired up to become a famous adventurer and hopes to one day be able to fight along side her.

Oomori Fujino and Kunieda really did a good job on this manga so far and I look forward to see what happens next.

The Ancient Magus Bride

I usually don’t like talking about brand new mangas because they only have a couple of available, but for this one I’ll make an exception. The new manga called The Ancient Magus Bride a.k.a Mahou Tsukai No Yome was created by a brand new artist named Yamazaki Kore. I give my props to the creator of this manga, it totally sucked me into the story and before I knew it, I was at the end and am now patiently waiting for the next chapter to come out.

This manga is about a girl named Chise who suddenly ends up in an auction to be sold to a bunch of rich people. Her  suddenly being auctioned off in the beginning of the story isn’t what caught my eye it was the fact that not only was she being sold in a world where magical creatures and other beings exist, but she was bought by a very mysterious person. Now, because this is a romance manga I bet most of you are thinking she was sold to a beautiful, mysterious person or something like that, right?

If you are then, you are DEAD WRONG!

Apparently, she’s sold to a very powerful sorcerer that everyone hates for some strange reason and not only that his head is an animal skull. No, its not a mask or a disguise spell or anything like that. That’s his real face! Besides, the fact that he as a animal skull for a head, the fact that he tries to cover it up with a small veil is very funny to me. It’s not like it’s really hiding anything. The moment you see him using the veil you can already tell that his face is disfigured in some way, so why hide it when you live in a world where creatures just like him exist?

Now let’s go back to Chise. She’s a red headed 16 year old girl who is suddenly bought by this strange sorcerer, but she seems to be really cool with it. In fact, her only main concerns were what he wanted her to do for him. You would think she would try to run or at least resist a little, but that’s not the case with her. You’ll find out later, she had a pretty good reason to act the way she acting, but like always I won’t spoil it for you.

After, reading the first chapter I didn’t know if I should be happy, sad or scared for Chise. To make things really interesting in story, not only does she get bought from an auction by an animal headed sorcerer, it turns out that he bought her for two reasons. First, to make her his apprentice. Secondly, to make her his future wife.

That really caught me off guard especially the way he proposed the idea to her. This manga is quite awesome and actually reminded me of a another manga that I’ve read a long time ago, but that can wait for another time. People are always saying, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ or ‘Don’t let another person’s looks fool you’ in this story Chise is going to have to see if she can love a man where the person inside might be exactly the same as his cover.

Rutta To Kodama

Source: http://www.yaoiotaku.com

Rutta to Kodama is a completed story by Fujitani Youko. This story revolves around two boys named Rutta and Kodama. These two became roomates at their school because unfortunately for Kodama there were no other rooms available. He didn’t care that he didn’t have a choice when it came to having a roommate. That is until is new classmates started to tell him about the rumors they heard about him.

They scared the crap out of him when they told Kodama that his roomate-to-be was a heartless thug that would beat people up for the smallest of reasons. They told him that he doesn’t care about anyone or anything else, but himself. They made it sound like he was going to end up dead very soon. When he finally met him, he was just like his classmates described him. But, in this story we see Kodama change is personality really quickly in the beginning. He goes from beating people up in different schools from actually going and paying attention in class.

Everybody in the school wondered, ” Why is he starting to behave now?” It’s because of Kodama. But, what got me was the reason he was even listening to him in the first place. The answer is simple………he’s gay.

No, I’m not just saying that to be funny. He’s really gay and has the hots for Kodama.

Yes, my friends this is another Yaoi story. For people who don’t know Yaoi means gay in guy terms. How is Kodama going to handle it when he finds out that Rutta is in love with him? You can find out by reading it.

What I liked about this story is that it’s not too long. They don’t keep dragging the story along until it gets boring. I also liked watching their love story develop. You can tell that Kodama was the girl and Ruuta was the guy in the relationship. This manga is heart warming, touching and totally romantic. It’s an awesome love story. I think anyone who loves reading about a love story and doesn’t mind it being revolved around a gay couple would really love this story.
