Corpse Party: School Edition

Blu-ray.comThe Corpse Party anime series and previous games are becoming increasingly more popular as time goes by. It’s so popular that I can’t see this series dying any time soon. So, without further ado, I would like to talk about one the most recent game in the series, ” Corpse Party: School Edition”.

If I had to give this game a nickname it would the “Filler Edition”, the reason being that it’s the same exact game as the first Corpse Party, but only this time they explain the missing holes that the first one left this time. Things like what happened to Kishinuma after he got knocked out by zombie teacher. How did he not die? How did he escape? And so on and so forth.

These types of things got on my damn nerves because the first game wouldn’t even hint at what could have happened. It was they were saying,” Well, they made it out alive and that’s all that matters. Don’t sweat the details!” No! I will sweat the details because I don’t know about you guys, but not knowing certain details or all the details when it comes to the storyline is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. So, when they finally brought out a game that will reveal all those mysteries, I was super happy about it.

Pinterest.comThe gameplay and graphics are pretty much the same as the first (besides the fillers), so if you’ve already played the first one and don’t mind playing it again then you have the advantage because you know almost everything that happens in the game. If you’re not in this fortunate position and are about to play Corpse Party for the first time, then you’re in for a ride. But, if you’re not into horror/RPGs then this might not be for you. I enjoyed watching the mysteries unfold and I thought it was totally worth playing this game all over again. I hope you all feel the same after playing the school edition.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive

I really love the Corpse Party series from the manga all the way to all of the video games they made. Corpse Party has been getting more and more popular over the years because of the incredible horror/mystery surrounding it. This one was made by Makoto Kedōin and developed by Team GrisGris. For those of you who don’t know what Corpse Party is about; it’s about a group of teenagers who decide to perform the Sachiko Forever Charm which is said to anyone who performs the charm will be together forever. Unfortunately, right after they perform the ritual an earthquake starts shaking the entire school and not long after they find themselves in an entirely different school filled with tortured souls and killer ghosts.

It’s a pretty cool show and I recommend anyone who likes horror or mystery to watch it. Just don’t get too attached to any of the characters…….they might not live too long.

The latest Corpse Party game is called Corpse Party Blood Drive and I already got freaked out by it by playing the first five minutes of it. You guys may not know it, but I tend to stay away from horror games just because I don’t like jump scares all that much. I will play them from time to time, but only if I think I can handle it. Corpse Party was the exception because I like the series so much. I thought it was going to be like the previous where there’s mostly talking and you have to move here and there to find stuff to move on.

Boy, was I way off with this one. .

The previous games is just like I said before they mostly talk and find stuff while avoiding ghosts, but it wasn’t that scary. They completely changed the game with this one though. In this game, after all the crap happened in the other ones and they finally escaped the school. It turns out that dark powers of the school were becoming so strong that they didn’t even need to drag all the way to the school after you performed the charm to torment or kill you. If you did it in the real world, your horrible death was pretty much guaranteed to happen. Also, Ayumi stupidly goes back to Heavenly Host after a strange boy tells her that the curse has expanded and she is the only one that can stop it. Again I thought it was a stupid move to go back at all. First off, you’re taking the advice of a complete stranger that seems to know all about you.(creeper alert!) Then, she decides it would be perfectly fine to right back after she just back from there by her fucking self!!! Her stupidity meter went up the freaking charts when she decided to do that.

During that part before she was about to go, I thought it would give me an option or something but that didn’t happen. So, I had to watch make her do these things while I shook my head at her and called her a selfish dumbass. Also, theirs a lot more of the adventure feature in this game and a lot more running away from ghosts, you just don’t know when their going to show up and start chasing you all over the place!

I’m not going to tell you how this game ends, but a lot of epic and crazy shit happens in this game. So, if you don’t mind a nice little horror game to pass the time then by all means play it and see how you like it.

Side Note: To all of my beloved readers/followers who I appreciate for continuing for reading my blogs, I would like to know if theirs anything you would like for me to talk about or even improve on to make this better for you guys. I can handle all kinds of criticism so give me your best shot!  🙂

Corpse Party: Another Child

This Corpse Party I would say would be the second season of the first Corpse Party, just with different characters. In this Corpse party, the main character is a girl named Tamaki who is also a psychic.

Her school is about to be shut down and almost everybody is getting transferred to schools in the city, except for a select few like Tamaki. Tamaki doesn’t seem to have many friends, but many enemies. The leader of these bullies would have to be Erina, who picks on her because Tamaki’s boyfriend, Yuuma, doesn’t like her. That’s what I don’t get, why would you pick on the do think timid girl because she has a boyfriend that is not hot for you?

But, I did think that a little bit was Tamaki’s fault. She was so prideful that she wouldn’t tell anyone that she was being bullied. Also, if she wasn’t so shy and everything and just told Erina off then she would have backed off or it could have made it a lot worse, who knows.

I like this new Corpse Party for several reasons. First off, the mystery behind it. If you’ve already seen the first one then that part is no longer a mystery, but when you find out that theirs another creepy ghost girl haunting the place while Sachiko is just sleeping someplace else, it kind of makes you wonder. Secondly, why does this ghost have a fascination with Tamaki? Is it because she’s the one responsible for bringing them her or is it something else?

We know from the first Corpse Party that Sachiko and all the other spirits and dead bodies are trapped in that other dimension. But, for some strange reason we caught her hanging around Tamaki before the spell was cast. How and why is the question and the story just sucks you right in.

Another reason I liked this manga so much is because we see a couple of the old characters in this version which I thought was awesome. Since, this manga is still ongoing I do not know if we’ll end up seeing all of them or maybe the ones who didn’t make it out from the last story.

Anyway, this version of Corpse Party is a really interesting read with a lot more mystery behind it. I really hope that Tamaki will face her fears and get out and that someone or something kills Erina.

Corpse Party Covered

Recently, I got hooked on to the horror story called “Corpse Party”. I got to say that its pretty good.

It starts out normal like all horror stories are with a group of kids telling scary stories in their home room class. Shinozaki is quite the talented story-teller, she even went the extra mile to scare her friends with the help of her teacher, Ms.Yui. But, I can say that the only one who got really scared by it would have to be Mochida. He boy gets scared so easily it’s ridiculous, I kind of felt bad that he was even in this manga at all.

We also have Naomi (the tomboy), Yoshiki (the bad boy), Yuka (Mochida’s little sister), Seiko (Naomi’s best friend), Mayu (transfer student) and Morishige (Mayu’s childhood friend). Unfortunately, for Mochida and the rest of the gang, things even get more creepy when out of the blue Shinozaki wants to work a spell on everyone that she sound on the internet. (Yeah, I don’t see that blowing up in your face.)

What the spell was supposed to do was connect them as friends. So, that no matter where they go they will always be friends. It was a nice thought until the spell went horribly wrong. Now their inside this creepy school called “Heavenly Host Elementary School” that existed before the school that was built today. The reason for it being shut down was because serial murderer who was kidnapping and killing kids in the basement of the school.

So, now their stuck in the school with no way of getting out. I don’t think they would have even figured where they were if the ghosts of other victims didn’t conveniently come out and explain things to them. According to the ‘friendly’ ghosts, they were victims that got dragged here just like them and were killed, but even in death they can’t move on. They said that this school in inside of a different dimension, so they can’t leave and to make things even worse everyone got separated when they first entered the school. How messed up is that! Its bad enough that you got suddenly dragged into a dimension where ghosts try to kill you, but you also get separated, cutting down your chances of survival.

I can guess what your thinking now. Your thinking,” All they have to do now is walk around the school and find each other”. Sorry, folks but they can’t do that either. Apparently, this place has different dimensions inside the school, so even if their classmates were all in the same room, they still wouldn’t be able to meet each other. That’s why a felt glad when some had the luck of being in the same dimension like Naomi with Seiko or Ms.Yui, Shinozaki and Yoshiki ending up together. But, the person who was most unlucky with this was Yuka, I felt scared for this girl being by herself and hoped, she found someone…………..alive soon.

One of the things I liked about this manga besides the gore, the mystery and the frequent attempts at trying to scare the crap out of me were the little dashes of romance they tried to squeeze in there. You’ll find in the manga that we’re going to see a bit of a love triangle develop in it. Shinozaki and Naomi liked Mochida, but Yoshiki liked Shinozaki. So, it was really a weird love square. The whole time I was rooting for Yoshiki to confess his feelings or at least kiss Shinozaki before one of them died.

There is a lot of mystery and darkness in this manga, that make you think that there is no hope for them. This manga is not yet completed, but the anime is. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next, but until then I’ll be reading the other versions of Corpse Party.
