Zootopia

Zootopia is one of the recent movies that came out not long ago. Its about a cute rabbit named Judy, whose been wanting to be a police officer since she was a kid, but nobody including her own family believes that she has what it takes to be a real police officer. In this animal world, it looks like depending on what type of animal you are (predator or prey) pretty much decides what kind of work you do. For example, since Judy and her family are all rabbits they own a nice vegetable farm out in the countryside. While animals like tigers, bulls, dogs or even elephants get into law enforcement work,

Even though the whole world is against her, she still believes she can become an officer one day and has a pretty positive outlook on the world. Well, that is until she moves to Zootopia, the most diverse city in the world. There she finds that she might need more than a ‘can do’ attitude and good grades from the police academy to run with the big dogs. Eventually, she meets a con artist fox named Nick, who is pretty much the exact opposite of the rabbit in every way and as they say……opposites attract. It didn’t take long for these two to keep running into each other, especially, after she gets assigned a case that seems almost impossible to solve.

This unlikely duo tries to solve the mystery and at the same time learn about each other. For the longest time, I thought these two were going to end up being together and everything. I don’t know how it works in this human-animal world though. Do they allow interspecies couples or do they not care about that in this world? I guess, we’ll never know.

They made the suggestion very hard in the movie, but I guess they didn’t want to go that route because its a kids movie. On the other hand, their have been plenty of couples who kiss and hold hands in past PG kid movies, so I don’t know what they were thinking with this. Maybe, they thought someone would get offended? I wouldn’t be too surprised in this day and age to find a few random people with plenty of time on their hands complaining about an animation movie and a good one at that

I really enjoyed watching this movie though. It was funny, interesting, diverse, modern and a joy to watch. This world describes our modern times and how being different from someone else effects them and how it can cause so much unnecessary hate and disgust. Also, I enjoyed the little animal puns that they bring out of nowhere. I can’t see anybody watching this movie and coming out the theater hating it. Its an incredible movie and I loved every minute of it. I hope after your done watching it, you’ll totally agree.
