The Earl and The Fairy

This manga is about a girl in the 19th century who is a fairy doctor. A fairy doctor’s job is to communicate with fairies and solve their problems or solve the problems that a fairy is causing a human. This fairy doctor is named Lydia and she took over this job after her mother died.

Business wise I would say she isn’t doing so good right now. She doesn’t get a lot of cases since now fairy doctors are super rare to find and most people don’t believe in fairies. The people around her all think she’s crazy because they always find her talking to herself when really talking to a fairy. Most of the time she’s talking to a fairy named Nico who takes the form of a cat.

Later. Lydia decides to visit her father in London when she ends getting kidnapped……..twice.

The first time was by a man named Mr.Huskley who tricked her into thinking that her father sent him. Then, got tricked and kidnapped again by a guy named Edgar who makes her think that he is a prisoner and needs her help in escaping. They do escape and Edgar reveals to her that he is an Earl and that he is the descendant of the Blue Knight King.

The Blue Knight King is a guy who lived a long time ago and legend says that he ruled a land where fairies lived. He vanished one day, but left behind a treasure sword that was for his family. Edgar claims that sword was recently stolen from his family and that he needs her help in finding it.

Lydia is suspicious of him and who can blame her. Edgar fakes being a prisoner and says he’s an Earl and now he wants her to help him just like that. Soon though, she realizes that she doesn’t have much of a choice. This guy is like a gangster disguised as a handsome prince and if she won’t help him, then the chances of her living are quite slim.

This a really good story. but theirs one thing I’m confused about. Most people in this manga can’t see, hear nor believe in fairies but does Edgar have the ability to see and hear them. I say this because in the beginning he mentions the cat, but when he catches Lydia talking to Nico, he says he can’t see him.

A couple times later its the same thing over and over. So, can he see him or not? Is he gaining the ability to see or something? Its really confusing. I kind of felt like I was watching Family guy a little bit. You know when Stewie talks all the time but no one notices. But, a few episodes later they comment on what he just said making it seem like their just ignoring him. That’s how I felt I can’t tell if he has the ability to see fairies or not. If he does have the ability then is he just ignoring Nico?

That for me is a mystery and I think theirs more to Edgar’s past than he’s letting on. For example, who is this Prince Character that he keeps talking about? And what did he do to him. I’m waiting for him to appear and have a showdown with Edgar.

Unfortunately, this manga is not complete and I do not when it will be. But, like I always say if you don’t mind it then go and read this mysterious and magical story of The Earl and The Fairy.
