Yobi, The Five Tailed Fox

This animation movie is about a young girl named Yobi. Well, no one knows how old she really is because she’s actually a fox that possesses magical powers. What she likes doing the most is turning herself into a ten year old girl.

For some reason, an alien race of furry aliens crash land on Earth and have been trying since then to go back to their planet. They are so weird and one of them likes repeating what the other one says. Then, one day one of them that’s considered a ‘troublemaker’ within the group gets yelled at forcing him to leave, which then leads to him getting himself captured by the kids at a nearby school. The school seems to be a school for the oddballs or outcasts of society. It did hint that some of these kids have some issues that need to be resolved.

The rest of the aliens feeling bad for him want to try to rescue him, so they ask Yobi to infiltrate the school and get their friend back. That is where the story begins. This movie absolutely cute and heart warming. You know that Yobi wants to be human, but she’s kind hearted enough to not take extreme or evil measures to get it. Unlike Mr.Shadow, who I had thought was a good guy at first when I saw him helping her get away from the hunter several times.

My favorite characters would have to be Yobi, Jung Jong-ee and Geum-ee. Jong-ee was this cute little girl who didn’t speak and for some strange reason, she always had to be hugging something. First, it was her oversized teddy bear and then she turned her attention to the alien. Geum-ee was this nice guy who wanted to be a comedian and liked spending time with Yobi. I liked watching the puppy love develop between the two, even though, Yobi had no clue that she was in love in the first place.

This movie is filled with adventure, mystery, magic and a glimpse of the supernatural world. I loved this movie and I can’t wait to see more. I really think that watching Yobi, The Five Tailed Fox is a total must see!
