The Ancient Magus Bride

I usually don’t like talking about brand new mangas because they only have a couple of available, but for this one I’ll make an exception. The new manga called The Ancient Magus Bride a.k.a Mahou Tsukai No Yome was created by a brand new artist named Yamazaki Kore. I give my props to the creator of this manga, it totally sucked me into the story and before I knew it, I was at the end and am now patiently waiting for the next chapter to come out.

This manga is about a girl named Chise who suddenly ends up in an auction to be sold to a bunch of rich people. Her  suddenly being auctioned off in the beginning of the story isn’t what caught my eye it was the fact that not only was she being sold in a world where magical creatures and other beings exist, but she was bought by a very mysterious person. Now, because this is a romance manga I bet most of you are thinking she was sold to a beautiful, mysterious person or something like that, right?

If you are then, you are DEAD WRONG!

Apparently, she’s sold to a very powerful sorcerer that everyone hates for some strange reason and not only that his head is an animal skull. No, its not a mask or a disguise spell or anything like that. That’s his real face! Besides, the fact that he as a animal skull for a head, the fact that he tries to cover it up with a small veil is very funny to me. It’s not like it’s really hiding anything. The moment you see him using the veil you can already tell that his face is disfigured in some way, so why hide it when you live in a world where creatures just like him exist?

Now let’s go back to Chise. She’s a red headed 16 year old girl who is suddenly bought by this strange sorcerer, but she seems to be really cool with it. In fact, her only main concerns were what he wanted her to do for him. You would think she would try to run or at least resist a little, but that’s not the case with her. You’ll find out later, she had a pretty good reason to act the way she acting, but like always I won’t spoil it for you.

After, reading the first chapter I didn’t know if I should be happy, sad or scared for Chise. To make things really interesting in story, not only does she get bought from an auction by an animal headed sorcerer, it turns out that he bought her for two reasons. First, to make her his apprentice. Secondly, to make her his future wife.

That really caught me off guard especially the way he proposed the idea to her. This manga is quite awesome and actually reminded me of a another manga that I’ve read a long time ago, but that can wait for another time. People are always saying, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ or ‘Don’t let another person’s looks fool you’ in this story Chise is going to have to see if she can love a man where the person inside might be exactly the same as his cover.

Psycho Pass

source: www. zerochan.net

Psycho Pass is set in the time of 2113. Of course, since this is placed in the future we’re obviously going to see a lot of futuristic things which for in my case I was extremely jealous of. The main character, Akane, who is a new inspector for the Public Safety Bureau Criminal investigation shows off a lot of her gadgets in the first couple of episodes.

I wish I had a computer butler who could change the entire interior of my house to anything I wished or change my clothes with a touch of a button anywhere I went. The utter convenience you see in this show is staggering.

Anyway, this show starts out with Akane on her first job as an inspector. My first impression of her was that she had a very mellow look to her and that she didn’t look like she belong doing police work. Turns out, I was right but I will not tell why or how I knew that I was right. You need to watch it to figure it out.

As an inspector her job was pretty much simple. To make sure the Enforcers did their jobs correctly. Enforcers are very disturbed people in which the higher ups use to help them go after criminals. Now this is where things get interesting.

The police in this anime kind of work the same way as they do in present time except with all the awesome gadgets. The other things is that each person is equipped with a special gun that can tell the difference between an innocent civilian and  cold hearted killer. Also, what I found that was really awesome about these guns is that if someone had the insane urge to try to kill an innocent person the gun’s safety would turn on, if not innocent and the person turned violent the gun would transform into what I like to call Lethal mode.

The Enforcers are all unique characters but some reason Kagari, who is one of the Enforcers kind of reminds me Karou from Ouran High School Host Club. He loves to tease and joke around Akane. When they first met he tried to flirt with her, but I think he’s a bit bipolar from how he can just flip the script on you really fast.

This anime show and characters are quite interesting and I recommend that people give it a shot.

Attack on Titan:Part 2

Source:www.otakuhouse.com

You’ve already probably noticed that I’m just going to talk about part 2 of Attack on Titan, instead, of part 1. That’s because I’ve already talked about part 1 on my old blog which if any of you would to glance at it’s at http://www.L0VANIME.blogspot.com.

Anyway onto the story, if you’ve already watched Attack on Titan then you already know the gist of the story. The human race is at the brink of extinction because of the man-eating titans and to avoid absolute death they built a huge wall around their kingdom which held for 2000 years. It gets seriously more intense after everyone finds out about Eren’s ability to turn himself into a titan. Even after Eren saves them all and helps them reclaim some of their territory, the people in his town still hate him and call him a monster which I thought was pretty messed up. If he really was a monster then he wouldn’t have saved any of them. It got worse when the people decide that they need to hold a trial for him to see if he should live or die.

If he dies then they just lost their only hope of survival, but if they decide to let him stay alive then he would have to join the Scout Regiment. The Scout Regiment is where soldiers who choose to fight the titans outside of their walled city. Unfortunately, after the attack no one wanted to be in it for fear of getting eaten.

I’m not going to spoil want happened during the trial or what they plan to do to him for the people who haven’t watched it yet, but let me tell you that its intense and depressing. I felt bad for Eren.

Then, comes one of my favorite characters in this anime. Levi, a powerful and respected soldier of the Scout Regiment group. He’s this strict, clean freak who always has a sour look on his face. But, for some reason cares about Eren and doesn’t seem to be afraid of him. My second favorite character in the Scout Regiment would have to be Hange. She’s always really happy, especially, when titans are involved. She’s like the scientist of the group, but don’t be fooled she’s just as lethal as the rest of them.

I don’t know which moment I liked better in part 2 of Attack on Titan, it would either have to be when a female titan appeared. Yes, I said a female titan appears out of no where kicking everyone’s ass. Or at the season finale, when Eren and the female titan face off in titan forms. I’m not going to reveal the secret identity of the other titan, you’re going to have to see for yourself.

My only problem with this anime would have to be that their aren’t enough episodes. The season is over and there is no sign of anymore episode or part 3 coming out the woodwork. They left behind too many questions and not enough answers, so I’ll be anxiously waiting for more episodes. Until next time.
