We Happy Few

WTFGamersOnly.comTold you this my next post wasn’t far behind. Alrighty then, let’s get into the meat and potatoes now.

This time around I’ll be talking about one of the new games that’s come out recently called,” We Happy Few,” a action-adventure game that was developed by Compulsion Games and can be on your pc or console. I heard a little about this game and when I got to see the trailer I knew I had to see more.

we-happy-few.wikia.com/wikThis centers around Arthur who from the looks of things is responsible for helping his company control the news to the public. According to the story, the United Kingdom lost the war to the Germans in an alternate universe where the Americans didn’t join in the war as the United Kingdom’s allies. One of the demands that the Germans made when they won the war was from them to give up all of their children for whatever reason.

They had no choice but to obey so they sent every child under 13 on a train to Germany. One of those unfortunate kids ended up being Arthur’s younger brother, Percy. As time went by the citizens of the United Kingdom slowly grew insane with guilt for what they’ve done to save their own skin, so they let their government to order scientists to make a drug called, Joy. This drug does exactly what the name implies; it makes you so happy that its creepy. I wouldn’t be surprised if people under the drug suddenly broke a limb or witness someone die and wouldn’t care too much about it. Anyway, after this drug was made the government made it a law that everyone had to take this drug, NO EXCEPTIONS.

So, now everyone is super happy for no reason. What the government failed to mention to everyone is that in order for the drug to trick your mind that your happy is for it to erase your memories, so now no one remembers anything about anything. In the game Arthur mentions things they’ve forgotten like “No one remembers what they read” or “When do we start eating rats?”

Speaking of rats enjoy this reaction video of gamers reacting to one of the surprising and disgusting moments in the game down below:

Anyway, Arthur remembers his long-lost brother after all this time after seeing a picture of them together in a newspaper. He decides to stop taking his Joy and goes on an epic journey to leave the country in order to find his brother in Germany. Better said than done with this mission, no one can go out the country without the proper paperwork plus if someone in the game suspects you then your chases by an angry mob and if caught by the police they’ll shove Joy back down your throat.

As you play the game you start to notice lots of story based things going on in here. For example, the super elite higher ups aren’t on Joy and that some people who you encounter in the game on missions are only acting like their on Joy all the time in order to avoid punishment.

The gameplay is really good and has a bit of a BioShock feel to it. The storyline is really interesting and so are the characters that you encounter in the game. I’m not going to ruin what happens at the end, but for me I was kind of disappointed because it’s not the good ending that I wanted to see, I just expected more and it leaves more questions than answers for me, at least. Still doesn’t stop me from saying that this was a really good game and if you like action, adventure, survival or a game with an awesome storyline then this is the game I would consider trying out.

Bendy and the Ink Machine

playstationlifestyle.netHi Everyone!

Today I’m going to be talking about a recently updated game called,” Bendy and the Ink Machine” that’s been receiving a lot of hype recently. It was made by TheMeatly Games;it’s a puzzle-horror game and available on Steam. It has a total different look than other horror games that we’re used to seeing. At first, you don’t think it’s that scary considering cartoon character posters are all over the walls and nothing as come to kill you yet.

Later, things start to go from, “okay, this isn’t scaring at all” to “holy shit! What was that?!”.  Especially, when ‘Bendy’ the main monster in this case starts popping up out of nowhere just to scare the piss out of you. The story goes that we come to this old studio building that we used to work at because Joey called him one day and said he had something to show him. I don’t know about you guys but if someone I used to know suddenly calls me out the blue like that years later and doesn’t tell me what the his surprise is and tells me to come to my old workplace in a creepy fashion…..automatic red flag.

Maybe, I would go there just to satisfy my curiosity, but once I saw that he wasn’t there I would be gone so fast. Unfortunately, for us players we have to be a dumbass and go look for him and we end up seeing some disturbing stuff along the way.

TheFinchofEh,Can't Complain.comI really like the feel of the game and cartoon style design of the game itself, it was really different. Now, this game is released in chapters and I think there are five in all and so far only two of them have been released. If your one of those gamers that likes to wait for the whole game to come out before playing that is totally fine. I’m not one of those gamers though. The moment a game I’ve had my eye on comes out, I’m running out to the nearest GameStop or buying it on Steam if it’s on there.

The more chapters that come out the more mysterious and dark the story gets. It goes from evil mad scientist theory to worshiping a Bendy demon and satanic rituals. You don’t know what the hell is going on at this point you just want to leave.

I don’t know if you guys do this too but after I’m done playing a game, I like going on Youtube and see if other players had the same reaction I did to certain things or found something I didn’t or just watch them freak out. Recently, I discovered this new channel called, “Gamers React Comp”, on Youtube where you can watch all these different players react to same scene in a game and at the end theirs a poll or who freaked out the most and who was the calmest out the bunch. Its pretty funny.

Moving on, this is a really easy game to play and if cartoon characters are your worst fear then look no further. The only bad thing about this game is its slow updates on the game itself. This has only 5 chapters total and there are already rumors that there could be a second game already in the woodwork, so if you enjoyed this game a lot and want to see more in the future then go right ahead and support them on Patreon. Hope you all enjoy this creepy, weird game as much as I did.

Those Virtual Villagers

I love and hate those Virtual Villager games that the company Last Day of Work, LLC make. Their are about four games in all in the series with each having a different story and puzzle the player must figure out before their entire village dies from hunger or disease. I think depending on the game decides how hard the challenge is.

For example, I thought that Virtual Villagers 2 was super hard because almost every villager was a child. If you haven’t played these games before then I must tell you that children can’t do anything except run around and pick items on the ground. So, I have to wait painstakingly for them to grow up and hope that they don’t starve to death.

Another thing that will get on my nerves would be that whenever one of them is trying to master a skill or trying to discover something new, it would take forever. When I say forever I mean a couple of hours and unlike the Sims games that we all know and love, their is no fast forward button in the Virtual Villager games. I wish their was one, but their isn’t. So, the only thing that you can do is get out of the game and come check on them later.

The more villagers you have doing the same thing, the faster the process goes. But, you’ll find that some of the people you control are really, really stubborn and will try to do anything else except what  you want them to do. When that happens I practically make it my life’s mission to get them to do it no matter how much they don’t want to until they give up. Its like me saying to them,” I do believe I control this game, not you.”

Even though, I say this and that about the game I still find myself drawn to them. Also, I hope that they continue to make more Virtual Villager games in the future.
