Coffee Talk is an interactive visual novel game that was created by Toge Productions in Janurary 28, 2020.
In this world, supernatural beings and humans co-exist but the main city we’re focusing on is in Seattle or more so, a coffee shop. Not just any coffee shop, its a shop that only opens at night that is owned by a mysterious barista that has befriended the local inhabitants. As you play, you learn the stories of these diverse characters and watch their stories unfold before your eyes.
This game won the hearts of cozy and storytelling game loves from across the world. Since its release, it has only grown in popularity and is available across various platforms (PC, Playstation, Nintento Switch and Xbox).
It wasn’t only the cozy, lofi musical playlist that pulls you in, its the atmosphere, the diverse characters and let’s not forget the drinks. Yes, this game let’s you make the drinks for the customers that come into your shop and you better be paying attention because sometimes, they won’t tell you straight out what kind of drink you want. You’ll have to play around with the ingredients and determine if this or that is what they ordered and if you get wrong, it could potentially affect the story.
Speaking of drinks, some of these combinations looked so good that it’ll make you tempted to go to either buy a coffee machine or go order at your local café and try it out for yourself. Who knew that their were so many different coffee recipe variations?
Last but not least, the characters themselves were so relatable. They had similar problems to any other person regardless of species or gender and it made you intrigued on how they planned to solve their issues if they planned to resolve them at all. This was an amazing experience and would play it again just for the music or the nostalgia of experiencing the story again.
