Experiencing OMG!Con

This time I’m going to talk about something different that I’ve never talked about before and that is conventions!

I’ve always wanted to talk about them at some point, but I haven’t gotten the chance to go to any of the ones lately because like most people I work and deal with other life problems that come our way. That’s okay though. I finally was able to go to another anime convention after so long.

OMG!Con was my second time going to an anime convention and I freaking love going to these events. This one was located in Owensboro, Kentucky on June 9-11. It was freaking awesome as hell! To be surrounded by like-minded people like myself, who are really into anime and like to cosplay and all that good stuff really puts a smile to my face. Before, you guys ask….no I did not cosplay for this event, but someday I will just not this time. Yes, I will take better pictures next time. I was distracted by everything going around me, so I wasn’t too concentrated on the picture-taking while I was there. Until, I master this art….. JUST DEAL WITH IT.

As you can see though, the thing I like most about conventions besides the people, costumes and the vibe is the vendors section. You never know what you’re going to see in that place. You can always find cool stuff there and for a decent price, but this where they always get you. If you don’t got the cash then I would steer clear of the vendor’s section at all costs or they will bleed you dry. This is what I do I scan all the stalls making a mental list of all the things that I want and if I happen to find two of the same item at two different stalls then I find out which one is cheaper before buying instead of being a compulsive shopper.

To me, that’s just common shopper sense, but the main thing is though that I’m always coming out of there with SOMETHING. Never Nothing. I always have to have at least buy something to remember the occasion.

I enjoyed everything that they had to offer to the food to the arcade that they had in there, too. My only regret was going to on the third day which I discovered is what I like to call the ‘winding down’ day. I was so mad at myself, but now I know that when it comes to cons you need to go on the 1st and 2nd day. If you didn’t already know this most conventions last for a full three days and almost always on the weekends because they know that if theirs any days of the week that everyone is off its on the weekend.

I had a great time during this event and if I have the time next year I’ll definitely drop by and see what’s going on. Also, if their are any events that you all recommend that I should go to and see then just let me know in the comments below. Thank you!
