The manga series and newly made anime show Masamune-kun no Revenge was made by Hazuki Takeoka. It’s about these two kids who got separated after an emotional blow to their relationship and happen to meet in school after not seeing each other for years. There are some problems though…….the old childhood friend (Aki) didn’t recognize him and Masamune hates her guts.

In this story, Masamune was really fat as a kid and had no friends except for Aki but one day out of the blue, she completely rejects him and gives him the nickname ‘Piggy’ which everyone at his old school called him all the time while growing up. Totally humiliated beyond belief, he made it his sole goal to one day get back at her. His plan was to get Aki to some day fall in love with him and then reject her in the worst way possible. Its too bad Aki seems to have mastered the ‘Rejection Technique‘.

Aki has earned the name ‘Cruel Princess‘ in her high school. The reason being that whenever a guy confesses their love for her, she finds the humiliating and worst way possible to reject them and then gives them an awful nickname for her to call them. I find it all pretty funny that she goes through so much just to tell them no. But, still let’s Masamune into her social circle after hating guys so much.

The entire series is pretty funny and I don’t know who I find more hilarious though. My favorite character would have to be Yoshino who is Aki’s personal maid and best friend. I think I like her because she kind of reminds me of myself personality wise and is really funny in her own way when she helps or torments Masamune. I’m not going to spoil it for anyone, but I’ll just say theirs more going on than you think at first. You realize later that not everything is so cut and dry in the story.

The manga and the show are still on going so I’m waiting just as patiently as you guys are and I can’t wait to see how it turns out for the both of them. I hope you guys enjoy this romance-comedy as much as I have so far.

Thanks for Reading!
