Let’s Play

Hello again, everyone!

Today I’ll be talking about another comic from Webtoon called, ” Let’s Play,” by Mongie. The main character ends up being a cute but nerdy girl named, Sam who has always dreamed of being a game developer. She worked her ass off until she was finally able to make her first game and shared it on a game developer site so others could play it and give her some feedback on how she did.

Things were going well until a famous gamer youtuber named, Marshall Law, played her game one day and gave it an awful review. Since, then things started going downhill for the poor girl. Her confidence along with her game developer reputation and dreams were dashed by one single internet icon. If things couldn’t get any worse, her new neighbor ends up being Marshall himself.

This story is really entertaining and I love the little emotion moments where the creator makes a person’s emotion look like shadow people. Also, I love the characters in this story and my favorite characters would have to Sam and Link and not just because I want them to end up together really badly. Sam is such a sweet girl and the embodiment of a gamer girl who needs to break of her shell. Link is her exact opposite, he’s not into games as much as she is, but he cares a lot about her and his really protective moments towards her are the cutest.

Besides, her love life starting to bloom; she hasn’t given up on her dreams, even though, she was kicked to the curb and thrown away by the internet. Also, I want to put out there that it turns out that Marshall isn’t an asshole or anything. He’s just a popular gamer that didn’t realize how much power he has over the fate of people like Sam.

The first season of this comic is complete and I patiently await for the second season or any updates from the creator about when we should expect the next episode, so I can see if Sam and Link finally end up together and everyone else gets over their issues and problems because the ending to season one is a very dramatic cliffhanger that makes you hungry for more. If your into slice of life or romance type of reads then this would be something I recommend that you read to pass the time. But, if you rather wait for it to be complete then I understand and give you props for your patience for waiting that long for that glorious moment to arrive. Hope you enjoy the story!
